It’s no joke everybody. Type 1 diabetics, doctors, family members, friends, and celebs in our world are gathering in New York City on April Fool's Day this Saturday. As a T1D living in Manhattan, I am here to share some tips on events happening and places to sneak away to grab some food or a drink during the weekend.

Myabetic Meetup at Salvation Taco
Who are they? Myabetic is a fashion company for the diabetic community. Who else has lost one of those black cases for days in the bottom of a backpack or somewhere in the car? Fear not! Myabetic has designed some stylish swag for us to carry supplies around and happily rock it.

JDRF OneNationSummit
Who are they? The Juvenile Diabetics Research Foundation is the largest non-profit funding research to find a cure for type 1. You probably have heard of them...

Where to get food for the JDRF conference

The lunch at the JDRF OneNationSummit down in D.C. was free and even had carb counts.  Yet, if you are coming to NYC you may want to explore some of the cuisine. This short list is only to get the ideas flowing and are located a few blocks from the conference center.
